- Terrain: Short mountain time trial (10.9km) finishing at Peyragudes ski station. Steep gradients throughout.
- Race Narrative:
- Start: Individual time trial format, riders start in reverse GC order.
- Climb: Sustained 8% gradient with steeper sections up to 12%.
- Finish: High-altitude finish tests power-to-weight ratio.
- Sporting Stakes: Significant time gaps, GC shakeup, pure climbing time trial.
